This year we had a P party theme when everyone was requested to dress as something or someone beginning with the letter P.
As you can see from the photographs we had quite a selection of characters.
Stylists, Helen, Charlotte, Hannah, Jamie-Lee, Karen and Receptionist Elaine all won awards and were presented with prizes and Diplomas to mark the occassion.

Donna Mackenzie launched her new 'Beauty Spa' this week (26th August 08), located directly above Christopher Boyton hair salon on Telegraph Road, Heswall.

The night was a roaring success with over 100 clients attending to join the celebrations. The evening was an ideal opportunity for people to view the newly renovated beauty rooms, browse the treatments available and to take advantage of exclusive offers available for both beauty and hair services on the night. Stylist Case Study - Hannah (Top Stylist)

"I was always interested in the hairdressing industry and after doing some work experience, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I applied to several good salons in the area and was pleased to receive a reply from Christopher Boyton (CB) as I knew they had a good reputation. After an interview and a tour around the salon, I was really happy to be accepted onto the CB team and initially I was quite nervous about meeting everyone as it was such a big team.

My training began in 2001 and I used to feel quite nervous during training school but enjoyed working as a team and learning different things. I enjoyed my 2nd year the most as I had settled in well and learnt the ropes by then. I qualified as a hairdresser in 2004 and by 2009 was promoted to Top Stylist which I was really pleased about as it meant that I was performing well enough to work at a higher level.

I have just completed the Wella MCA (Master of Colour) award and although it’s been quite a challenge, I love the extra confidence it is giving me both in-salon and with teaching the trainee stylists. I will possibly go on to study the MCS (Specialist) and MCE (Expert) awards.
Occasionally I meet a client that makes me feel slightly uncomfortable and the holiday entitlement isn’t fantastic for hairdressers but the things I love about being a hairdresser are being creative and making people feel better and happy about themselves. I think I will always work in the hairdressing industry and am open to what may lie ahead in the future.

My advice for someone thinking about hairdressing as a career...you need to be a hard worker and you are on your feet all day. You should always aim to prove yourself and to perform to the best of your ability - manners are very important. The wages aren’t fantastic when you first start out but if you work hard, you will see good results in the future."

Wirral WITCHES (Women in Touch with Claire House) held a fundraising dinner for Claire House at Gusto, Telegraph Road, Heswall, last week.

Over 100 Wirral ladies enjoyed a reception drink and sumptuous three course lunch in the luxurious surroundings of one of Heswall's most stylish restaurants.

David M. Robinson jewellers provided the glamour with a stunning array of new collections, while Christine Cartwright, International skincare expert from Estee Lauder provided and entertaining interlude on skincare.

CB Raises £500 for Children In Need!

Christopher Boyton Hair Salons raised a grand total of £504 over the months of October and November '07 for BBC's Children In Need appeal. The two Wirral based salons have been collecting donations from loyal clients and generous passers by in exchange for a FREE Pudsey badge or balloon and a chance to win one of a fabulous selection of hair care products totalling over £500 – all supplied with compliments of GHD, Paul Mitchell and Wella Professional.

Christopher Boyton stylists donned the Children In Need ‘spotty scarf’ and clients drank out of Pudsey coffee mugs in support of the charity on the day of the event. Staff also contributed to a internal raffle for the chance to win a ‘once in a million’ prize from one of their managers – pledges included a personal chauffeur service to and from the winner’s favourite nightspot or shopping city, a home-cooked meal for the winner and 3 friends and a personal Christmas shopping service with gifts wrapped and delivered to the winners door! Every penny collected will be donated to Children In Need to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Christopher Boyton, Salon Partner is in full support of charity fundraising, “As a well established local business, we have the advantage of encouraging our loyal base of clients to get involved and contribute to important causes such as Children In Need – fundraising activities are fun for both our clients and our staff and I am delighted that we can contribute a little something every now and then”.
